A little masterpiece
To give life to their small masterpiece, the master engraver sticks the smooth side of the shell on the end of a wooden stick with a Rosin-based glue, whose recipe has been carefully handed down from generation to generation. This is how the artwork begins to take shape.
The magic can begin
The magic can then begin: after studying the design to be made, the engraver sketches it on the chosen shell and meticulously carves out a new work of art. This prodigious transformation is the great cultural heritage of Torre del Greco that translates to every jewel, and is one that the Di Luca family cherishes.
